LONDON MARRIOTT PARK LANE HOTEL REVIEW

I love traveling to London. After living in the UK for so many years, London had become a second home to me. I relish every opportunity I get to go back to visit.

This time around I was fortunate enough to stay in the luxurious London Marriot Park Lane, which is set on the prestigious Park Lane in central London. The hotel boasts close proximity to all the wonderful shopping on Oxford Street and the serenity of Hyde Park and provides excellent transportation links via the Marble Arch Tube stop.

This hotel has kept the Marriot branding but has recently undergone an extensive multi million pound renovation to compete with the likes of The Dorchester. The decor of the rooms certainly did not disappoint. Greys and whites are combined with subtle hints of purple and chartreuse to create an ambiance of relaxation yet whimsical refinement.

There are many facilities inside the hotel from a restaurant on the ground floor called Lanes of London which offers sumptuous fare, to the serene swimming pool, you will be spoilt for choice with options to enjoy your time here.

LONDON SIGHTS! KENSINGTON PALACE TOUR

When you don’t have a lot of time in a major city and you want to go for maximum impact, think grand. I just had to witness the grandeur of Kensington Palace, currently the home to William and Kate and many other royals past and present. So exciting!

My tour began with a lovely walk through Hyde Park toward Kensington Palace. It’s a picturesque scene as the daffodils have already started to bloom and bird song is to be found atop every tree.

Thank

Once inside the Palace my friend and I collected our tickets which were purchased in advance from VisitLondon.com although tickets can be purchased directly on the property. Our guided tour lasted approximately 45 minutes where we learned so much about the Palace and the Royals that lived there. The costumes on display were mesmerizing and were featured in the Academy award winning motion film, “The Favorite”.

The rooms on display to the public are in the East Wing to the house, and were quite extraordinary!

Kensington Palace is a truly remarkable destination in London. The historic charm and grandeur will take your breath away at every turn. I highly recommend it for your next London visit.

SPRING WARDROBE UPDATES WITH MARK’S & SPENCER USA

Although my family and I have been living back in America for many years now, there are so many things that I miss about England.

From the very fresh produce to the top quality items of clothing, Marks & Spencer’s was always my go- to shop for all of my home and family essentials.

I was so excited to discover that they now offer shipping to the USA! Even better shipping is free and expedited for orders over $50. It’s a no – brainer for me to stock up on good quality essentials for myself and my girls with such a good selection of girls and babies items as well.

Here are a few items I have recently purchased to update my spring wardrobe. All of the items arrived to me in 3 days and the quality of each piece is beyond excellent! I am so happy to be able to bring some luxuries of the UK to US shores!

TOO FACED PRETTY RICH DIAMOND LIGHT EYESHADOW PALETTE

if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now you will know that I am a bit obsessed with pretty eyeshadow palettes, which is a little odd since I only ever wear a neutral eye in real life. Even so, I am always drawn to a gorgeous palette of shimmery shades to make the perfect party of particles on my eyelids.

Now I don’t want to ever look like I’m wearing a glitter eyeshadow as that’s just not my personal preference but sometimes one does want more than a standard taupe and beige combo.

This new palette from Too Faced cosmetics doesn’t disappoint. Besides the ‘ Pretty Rich’ slightly obnoxious monicker the palette is pretty subtle yet very pigmented. All the colors are so gorgeous and blend in together so beautifully that you will not be mistaken for a women stuck in the late 90’s from loads of glittery makeup fallout.

The palette is luxurious and quite sophisticated- a great buy for Spring!

Here are the fun colors:

L-R

1. Diamonds for Breakfast

2. It’s Designer

3. Fancy That

4. Filthy Rich

5. Clutch your pearls

6. Princess Cut

7. Diamond Glitterati

8. Highly Selective

9. Fluent in Diamond

10. It’s Cashmere

11. Don’t Carat All

12. Oh, That’s Rich

11. Coal Under Pressure

12. Silver Spoon

13. Set the Jewel Tone

14. Diamond Life

Hope these names inspire you! You can purchase the palette from Sephora.com HERE

#OOTD – Poolside Chic

Pool side chic to me is comfort and personal style. You won’t find me one of those mono-kinis with side cut outs even if I had JLo’s abs. I prefer a retro style two-piece paired over a light tunic for poolside lounging. Here is the look I have been rocking in Orlando.

STAYING READY

Everyone says that a mommy should have a uniform.  You know, a go-to ensemble that you can throw on in no time flat and can look instantly pulled together.  For me, my uniform is usually always the multi-functional tunic blouse.

A tunic can be a number of things: from a mini dress to a longer blouse that stops mid-thigh, it is a figure flattering silhouette for a short- waisted hourglass woman like me.  A tunic offers maximum versatility and comfort, especially when paired with a pair of leggings.

img_1995img_1990  You can instantly dress up or dress down the look with your choice of footwear.  Today I am rocking a sassy pair of over the knee boots from Carlos Santana which are very stylish yet comfortable. A lovely black fringe vest and my Chanel le boy completes the look. img_1979img_1978
