End of Summer Holiday Style

I can’t believe we are almost at the end of summer! The time has really flown by. It’s been pretty up and down weather wise in the north-east with sunny days sprinkled with passing showers. But it has been altogether a really nice summer, relaxing and slow-paced with plenty of quality time with my little bear.

My family and I have decided to take a much needed end of summer vacation to celebrate the end of the season, and that means shopping for a few items for a holiday wardrobe refresh!

I have recently discovered Rainbow.com, a favorite clothing retailer from my teen days that has been totally revamped for the modern era. This extremely affordable fashion site offers look-of-the-moment items in a range of sizes and shipping from is super fast as well.

I was able to procure some really cute items to mix into my wardrobe of well made basics to add a bit of flair to my vacation wardrobe. Plus I even got a few items for little bear in their girls section!

ABOUT LAST NIGHT – SUMMER SWAG IN THE SUBURBS #OOTN

Summer nights are great. I love the longer daylight hours and the feeling of a leisurely night ahead. We had our awesome sitter at home and we were heading out to a fun grown-ups only party.

Since we were going to an adults only soiree, I wanted to wear something dramatic but understated at the same time. Not a look I would wear to park. So I chose this super cute maxi halter dress from the Eva Mendes line at one of my favorite stores, NY & Company.

This dress is flowy and soft, and perfect for relaxing the night away. I am wearing it in Mocha and it also comes in a beautiful turquoise.

OOTN – SUMMER FLORALS

Hubby and I are headed out for a long overdue night out on the town with some friends. We are going out to try a new Puerto Rican restaurant in town and I thought this floral dress is the perfect ticket!

This maxi floral is casual, fun, and flirty – the perfect balance between sophisticated and sexy for Date night swag.

Paired with nude heels, statement earrings and bohemian waves, I am feeling muy caliente while not going over the top.

#OOTD – Poolside Chic

Pool side chic to me is comfort and personal style. You won’t find me one of those mono-kinis with side cut outs even if I had JLo’s abs. I prefer a retro style two-piece paired over a light tunic for poolside lounging. Here is the look I have been rocking in Orlando.

Christian Dior has done it right with this amazing holy-grail of foundations with Christian Dior Skin Forever. This foundation has everything I have ever wanted and needed in a liquid foundation – lightweight, full coverage and perfect color! Not to mention the fragrance is light and pleasant.
I have been wearing the same foundation for over ten years, and decided it was time for a change since my skin is becoming more mature, and I can say I have found a perfect match. It’s no secret – I LOVE a discount. Not sure where my love affair with discount shopping began. I have been hunting down the best prices on items since my teen days, opting to go to the Avenue instead of the Mall, going thrifting and shopping where ever I saw a deal was to be had.
Now that I am usually at home I took to the internet to get my discount diva fix and found the most remarkable site through 599Fashion.com.

I love the lace tops, so elegant and easy to wear with a multitude of items. The lace overlay dress is very cute and perfect for Easter when paired with a navy cardigan. I love the grey vest, and have worn this piece practically everyday.

FAVORITE SPRING THINGS | BODEN USA

I really do seem to have Spring on the brain. The sunny skies and spring-like temperatures make me feel that winter can really be a distant memory from here on out – or at least until the next snow storm. But we must maintain positive thoughts, right? So naturally I am thinking about a few fun and carefree frocks to replenish the Winter wardrobe. No better company to check out than Boden USA.

STAYING READY

Everyone says that a mommy should have a uniform. You know, a go-to ensemble that you can throw on in no time flat and can look instantly pulled together. For me, my uniform is usually always the multi-functional tunic blouse.

A tunic can be a number of things: from a mini dress to a longer blouse that stops mid-thigh, it is a figure flattering silhouette for a short- waisted hourglass woman like me. A tunic offers maximum versatility and comfort, especially when paired with a pair of leggings.

You can instantly dress up or dress down the look with your choice of footwear. Today I am rocking a sassy pair of over the knee boots from Carlos Santana which are very stylish yet comfortable. A lovely black fringe vest and my Chanel le boy completes the look.

SUNNY SATURDAY

I love spending Saturdays with my little one(s), especially when the sun it out!
Today was exceptionally mild for February with temperatures into the mid 60’s, so we took every opportunity to spend as much time outside as we could. We started off my taking or new puppy, Sweet Pea out for a walk around our garden. Then we went to a local park and finished off a fantastic afternoon with delicious frozen yogurt.

Comfort is always key for us, so I opted for a flowy tunic and jeans with fun pink boots. Little bear is in a complimentary floral dress, warm yet welcoming for the spring-like temperatures.
