My May 2014 WifeStyle Favorites!

Summer is literally days away and the weather is finally beginning to lighten and brighten up.  Its been a bit of a dreary and grey spring, so that has had a major influence of my style choices for the season.

Last year when we arrived from the UK we were welcomed to the USA by sunny skies and sweltering temperatures almost everyday, whereas  this year the weather has palled in comparison. So what does a girl do when you want to do away  with your winter gear but its not warm enough for your brights and lights? Well you go for transitional items.

I have been in love with these floral pants that I picked up from Shopper’s World, but you can find similar pants from lots of retailers. They seem a bit loud, but they are so fun when paired with a simple top. I usually pair mine with a plain white tee of loose free-flowing silk top. I am also loving the khaki beige silk top that I also purchased from Shopper’s World. I have worn this top at least 4 times already this month, and it washes beautifully in the machine, I am careful not to tumble dry it though because of the delicate nature of the fabric.

For accessories, I have been loving my floral print scarf from Zara which I picked up in London about 4 years ago and remains a Spring/ Summer staple every year. Scarves are great for layering and add a bit of pizzaz to any outfit and can always be tucked away in a handbag when the temperature suddenly picks up. My sleeveless hot pink sweater from Pretty Girl is indispensable for the topsy-turvy weather. Not only does it provide a light weight layer for when I go to the gym, it also acts as a camouflage for my unwanted lumps and bumps   shown through my workout gear!

For handbags, I have still been rocking my Micheal Kors Selma satchel.  I purchased this bag in February and have been wearing it non-stop ever since.  I can’t rave enough about this BAG! But perhaps it will be time for a switch up in June.

As for makeup I have really enjoyed using the Nicka K 22 colors eyeshadow palettes.  I own both the eclipse palette and the gypsy palette and they are such beautiful colors for spring and summer.  The colors are richly pigmented and long-lasting.

I have also discovered some new makeup brushes which I purchased from Amazon.com.  These brushes are fantastic and apply my makeup beautifully, especially the eyeshadow brushes.

They remind me of the Sigma Mr. Bunny makeup brushes but for a complete fraction of the price! They have no shedding and are very easy to work with. You can order these brushes directly from amazon using the following link:

Momager by Nicole by OPI, 4.French Rose by Nicka K, and 5. Tour De Finance by Essie.  More in-depth reviews on some of the polishes can be found on my Christina’s Top Coats tab
