Family Fun at The Wave Resort in Long Branch, New Jersey

We had a great family holiday last week at The Wave Resort in Long Branch, New Jersey. We never thought we would actually go away anywhere on holiday this year considering the life-changing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. But as numbers are thankfully on the decrease here in the Northeast we decided to go ahead and book a few days away to celebrate my hubby‘s birthday- while taking the necessary precautions of wearing a mask in all public areas and social distancing. We chose The Wave Resort because not only is the resort a newly renovated luxury hotel, but it is also pet friendly. We didn’t have time to secure a boarding place for Sweet Pea, our Havanese pup. We were so pleased that we were able to bring her along with us for a small pet fee. We really haven’t gone much of anywhere since the beginning of quarantine, so it was a welcome break from our usual routine.

We booked the deluxe queen room with partial Oceanview as the ocean views were already sold out. The room was absolutely gorgeous – albeit a little bit narrow – but more than enough space for sleeping especially for a family of four with a small dog. We had amazing weather and just loved hanging out in Longbranch. The beach is super clean and relaxed, the town’s got a charming and chilled out vibe and there are excellent dining options. I would thoroughly recommend Long Branch as a New Jersey sea side town to visit.
I would also thoroughly recommend booking The Wave Resort as well, just make sure you book in early. We would love to get the full Oceanview room next time or maybe even book in a Junior suite just so that we can have the extra room. But as far as being a family friendly, hotel, having helpful staff, a luxurious yet minimal interior, plus a top notch location, look no further. We will definitely be back. One only negative aspect is the room service could improve in terms of the selection of offerings. We noticed there was only a breakfast menu so it would be great if they can expand that to include maybe a lunch and or dinner menu in case you like to dine inside. Also it would be great If they offered a high chair for toddlers so that they can enjoy their food in the room as well without causing a big mess everywhere. However there are so many positives. Housekeeping was amazing – whenever we called to request housekeeping they came up almost immediately and left our room spotless. We felt very safe and secure during this pandemic and felt that the staff were doing their best to maintain a clean and sanitized environment.
I would thoroughly recommend going to the Wave Resort as a family or as a couple. Its in a great location, has lovely amenities and they really go the extra mile to make you feel like they are taking precautions seriously.
