Hey guys! This week we have finally completed our backyard makeover. It has taken a few months (or shall I say even a few years) to get things just as we like, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!
First things first, its always good to invest in a good fence. We have had a broken fence in the backyard for a few years, and we didn’t think to replace it because it wasn’t “that bad”. It wasn’t until a few pesky kid neighbors kept climbing at the top for an impromptu ‘hello’ that we thought it was time to upgrade to a higher and much more sturdy fence. Our backyard immediately looks more clean, fresh and polished. Establish those boundaries and you will ensure your privacy and uplift your space immediately!
I also got rid of our old worn-out patio cushions and invested in bright and colorful patio chair cushion replacements. We also purchased chair covers to make sure we keep this set in pristine condition. The patio paving stones have been pressure washed to get rid of the winter sludge and now they are gleaming! Final touch has been to add our super fun Intex pool in the 12×30 size to the driveway for a compact yet cool spot to chill out. This fun little pool got a total makeover through the addition of reed fencing from the Home Depot placed around the perimeter to give it more of a relaxed tropical vibe. I further fancied the pool out my adding a waterproof submersible pool light and above ground pool fountain for the additional beauty of getting to listen to the calming sound of flowing water,
Speaking of fountains, our lion water feature got a makeover with new tiles for a brighter facade. She is now a sparkling lioness with calming turquoise waters!
No backyard oasis is complete without gorgeous bistro lights for nighttime ambiance. Lighting lends warmth and sophistication to an outdoor space. Set up some outdoor lanterns or string up a set of bistro lights, and your space will be instantly more welcoming. We purchased ours from The Home Depot and they are amazing. They are all weather proof, so no need to worry about taking them down again in winter.
We are in love with our backyard now. It has gone from drab to divine and it is now literally our favorite “room” in the house.
Until Next Time!
