I am usually always on the hunt for new perfume in the summer. I am drawn to fresh and clean citrus fragrances, but wanted something with a little more depth and muskiness to it this year. I know it sounds like an odd combination, but I wanted a lemony scent without the tangy acridity of lemon pledge. Warm lemon, as I call it, is not the easiest scent to track down. Lots of citrus fragrances out there are just a bit too sharp for me. NEST Fragrances Citrine has gotten the balance just right however; fresh and clean and a glimmer of sultry depth.
What piqued my interested first is the packaging. NEST Fragrances all come in gorgeous black bottles with images of botanicals inlaid through the glass. They all look stunning on display and it was hard to narrow my selection based on the packaging alone.
Then it was on to the sniff test. While Dahlia & Vines is very beautiful as well as Midnight Fleur (these will be picks for Fall) hands down Citrineis the winner for summer. Delicate yet grounded this is the perfect blend of fresh and earthy. Citrine was launched in 2016. Top note is lemon blossom; middle notes are lotus, freesia and dew drop; base note is woodsy.
According to the NEST Fragrances Website, “The dewy softness of lotus flower and freesia are set against sparkling citrus notes and hints of precious woods. The beauty of Citrine is the enveloping combination of citrus notes with a watery, fresh dew drop accord. This fragrance evolves to showcase the harmonious blend of freesia petals and lotus blossom, while precious woods support the long-lasting, refreshing trail that remains throughout the day. Inspired by the botanical artwork of an 18th Century artist, the Eau de Parfum Collection is a luxurious wardrobe of fragrances to Scent the Mood™ for any occasion”
Notes: Lemon Blossom, Lotus Flower, Freesia, Dew Drop Accord, Precious Woods
Style: Bright. Refreshing. Sparkling.
